The staff at Plant Ranch are pleasant and helpful, and they have a wide range of plants, pots, water features, and garden ornaments.I was particularly impressed by the plaster rabbits and painted plaster pumpkins with faces which have given my garden an “Alice in wonderland” feel. The parking lot has attendants which gives peace of mind while browsing their extensive range of garden items. My only slight disappointment was that they didn’t have a hanging bird seed feeder in stock.

Overall: I would say they have a great variety, but also at a great cost. In both the nursery and restaurant they have a lot to choose from, which is perfect if you are not price sensitive.Plants: Their succulent & water feature variety far surpasses any nursery I have seen, however their plants do not look well kept. Succulents and plants with thicker leaves will be fine, but I would be wary to buy plants that seem distressed or where their roots are showing.Restaurant: Starting with the positives their chai late is really good, just keep in mind they cost R48 each. Their chips were the star of the show for each meal, they were hot, soft and moist inside but slightly crisp on the outside (really delicious 'slap chips'). Their pies are okay, I tasted the pepper-steak and Cornish where the fillings were good but the pastry undercooked. The gravy that comes with the pie tastes like a packet of Royco Onion Soup. The basket (where you can choose 3 items from a list and they give three of each item) was overall satisfactory. We chose the samoosa's, ribs & chicken wings. Samoosa had crisp outer texture and even though they were ice cold, they still tasted decent. The honey mustard sauce that came with the basket was delightful and really elevated anything you dipped into it. The ribs and chicken wings had a nice flavour however they were over salted for my preferences.Atmosphere: I would definitely give them a 10/10. It is tranquil with the sounds of water trickling in the background, birds in the trees and beautiful plants all around. It is a lovely casual environment for a Sunday lunch type outing. They have a few wild green parrots there too which frequent the tree on the right hand side of the restaurant, and little finches that will come right up close for a bit of food.
